Well, it’s that time again: Oscars season! Like every year, here are my predictions. The ones that I think SHOULD win will be in RED and the ones that I think WILL win will be in BLUE. If they’re the same, they’ll be a combination of both colors! I’ve left the big awards for the end. My record so far has been 14/24 (2013). Let’s see if I can beat it this year. Enjoy!

Thanks! And Hmm…probably not; I haven’t seen many of these films, but just based on critic’s reviews, trailers, and overall consent, I think I still would have gone with Spotlight.
Spotlight is definitely deserving! I wish Carol would have been nominated but now I’m rooting for Room (I would be shocked if it wins but it’s nice to root for an underdog).
Yeah, if Room wins, it definitely would be an underdog.
I feel it’s gonna be a toss-up between Spotlight, Mad Max, and The Revenant.
Interesting picks. Only one’s I see differently is I think Kate Winslet will win, Ennio Morricone for score and World of Tomorrow for animated short (it is between it and Sanjay).
Thanks! I don’t think Winslet will win as she hasn’t won many awards for that role in other awards shows so far when compared to Rooney Mara and Jennifer Jason Leigh, but that’s just me.

Yeah, but I think that was the only one she won, or she only won a few more in comparison with the number that Rooney Mara won.
I’ve always had about the same streak of luck (above 10) never close enough to the 20s ;). Good predictions!

Inside out is most likely to win best animation but Im hoping boy and the world wins the category. I think best actress will go to Saorise from Brooklyn.
Saoirse is an interesting choice for the winner. We’ll just have to see.

Got the chance to watch all of the shorts for animation. Really enjoyed world of tomorrow. Prologue was fantastic and i do hope this short wins, especially when richard williams was the sole animator.
Lucky! Yeah, I’m now wishing I had picked World of Tomorrow as my pick, but oh well.
Pixar will probably win the category because of the film being a pixar movie. World of tomorrow i loved the humor but animation wise, the bear story and prologue were the better ones. I didn’t like how in the bear story in the beginning you don’t see his family
I think you’ll break your record this year! I’m glad we agree on Cinderella for costumes, I’ll be really disappointed if it goes to any of the other options. I went back and forth on visual effects between The Martian and Star Wars, but given how big Star Wars had been I think it’ll break in that direction. Good luck!
The reason I feel The Martian will win the VFX award is that the past few years, the astronaut-space themed films have won the VFX awards (Gravity, Interstellar).
