Actor Rod Taylor Dies At 84!

I’m back from my vacation to bring you quite saddening news. Australian actor Rod Taylor has died at the age of 84 due to a heart attack. Rod Taylor (1930-2015) was known for appearing in films such as The Birds, The Time Machine, The Train Robbers, and Inglorious Basterds.

But animation and Disney fans will know him best as Pongo in Disney’s One Hundred and One Dalmatians! He shall be missed!

  1. What’s strange is that one of his movies Sunday in New York was playing on TCM less than a month before he died and I just sporadically recorded it on my DVR to watch just because I saw a clip of it and thought it would be interesting.

If you haven’t seen it (and I know most people haven’t), the movie is an unmemorable, but nevertheless charming film to watch on “a Sunday” as the title implies. But Rod Taylor was great as the dashing lead. Watching it gave me a new appreciation of who he was as an actor and why he might have been cast in 101 Dalmatians.

And I’ll glad I was able to do that before he died, so that it meant something.
