The latest Pixar film, Finding Dory, has broken the record for highest-grossing opening weekend for an animated film. Grossing $136.2 million, Finding Dory surpassed Shrek the Third‘s record of $121.6 million. Congratulations to Pixar!
Did you see the film? What did you think of it?
I figured Finding Nemo would surpass everything. I’m pretty sure it will win the animated movie of the year also. But, I’m hoping Moana will have a chance, because it looks really good. I’m going to go see Finding Dory next weekend though. I can’t wait lol.
I dunno…Zootopia is a pretty strong contender. And Kubo and the Two Strings seems to have amazing animation.
I really liked Zootopia, but I didn’t love it. And, I don’t see it passing Dory. I mean I hope it does, because Pixar seems to always win, but I don’t know we’ll see. I’ve never heard of those lol.
Kubo and the Two Strings is a stop-motion animated film from LAIKA.
Loved the film and happy to see it doing so well! What an insane year for Disney. Only one dud in Alice.
Let’s see how Pete’s Dragon and The BFG will fare.
Yeah those will be risks but with year they’ve had they candle a few risks
Ha handle not candle. Stupid autocorrect. But even with some misses Disney is looking at smashing the studio record for best year ever. I mean Zootopia, Jungle Book, Civil War, Finding Dory alone is stunning. Then Dr Strange, Moana and Rogue One coming up. Wow!
