In sad news today, actor David Ogden Stiers, has passed away at the age of 75! Mr. Stiers (1942-2018) was known for his role in the TV series, M*A*S*H, as well as for his voice performances in multiple films including:
Beauty and the Beast as Cogsworth,
Pocahontas as General Ratcliffe,
Lilo & Stitch as Dr. Jumba,
and The Hunchback of Notre Dame as the Archdeacon.
He shall definitely be missed!
I was utterly shocked by the news; I had expected him to live on for at least another decade…
At any rate, among his many roles, I think that my favorites are Cogsworth, Wiggins, and the English voice for Kamajii.
Yes, the news did come as a shock to most of us. I think we didn’t know that he had cancer.
Oh my goodness, this is so saddening. Rest in Peace to him. I didn’t even realize he was in M.A.S.H. (something I was familiar with through my mother watching it)
Yeah, I’ve never seen M*A*S*H, but I think that’s his biggest claim to fame outside Disney films.
Terrible news. Cogsworth was my favourite role of his.
Same! It was a shocker indeed!
May he rest in peace.
We shall miss him indeed!
