Wow, once one beloved celebrity dies, there seems to be a string of other celebrity deaths that follow!
Today we mourn the loss of the beloved comedian and actor, Jonathan Winters, who passed away yesterday on April 11, 2013. He had appeared in many movies and television shows over the years and was one of the last surviving old-time comedians.
Also, he was no stranger to animation and had lent his voice to several projects. He lent his voice to the English dub of “Alakazam the Great”,
to an episode of “The New Scooby-Doo Movies”,

to the film, “I Go Pogo (aka Pogo for President)”,
to the holiday special, “The Little Troll Prince”,

to the film, “The Thief and the Cobbler”,
to the character of Papa Smurf in “The Smurfs” and “The Smurfs 2”,

and to many other characters in other animated projects.
Yep, Mr. Winters (1925-2013) will be remembered for a long time to come.
I’m sorry to say that I haven’t heard of him until today. RIP.
Yeah, he’s not a household name with our generation; but his voice has definitely been heard by us.
I am sorry again to say that I have not heard his voice! Maybe on Scooby doo but I don’t remember. And I REALLY want to see The Thief and the Cobbler.
Did you watch “The Smurfs” that was released in 2011?
No I didn’t. Not even the brilliance of NPH could convince me to watch it.
Sad! And honestly, I thought he died years ago. I saw The Thief and the Cobbler.
Yeah, he was quite old and not in the news much except for his voice roles in “The Smurfs” and the upcoming “The Smurfs 2”.
I remember watching his program when I was little … I think I just dated myself … he was soooo funny and could make a joke about any object which he found. Years later I remember him showing up on “Mork and Mindy” as their child … you see, children on Ork were born old and got younger as they “aged”. He was a gifted comedian and opened a lot of doors for today’s comedians … he will be missed
He will be missed indeed!
