The first teaser trailer for Pixar’s upcoming Cars 3 has debuted:
What can I say except…Wow?! Everyone’s talking about how dark and gritty Pixar is getting with this franchise. I mean, seeing an injured near-retirement Lightning McQueen try to get back in the race does sound interesting! The film is set to be released in June 2017, so I wonder when a voice cast will be announced?

The Animation Commendation 
I’m not a fan of the Cars franchise. I thought the first one was mediocre at best and I thought the second one was absolutely terrible. So my expectations for this film were not very high, but after watching this trailer, I’m really excited to see this film now. I was not expecting the franchise to go the dark and gritty route.

It is funny that most of the Youtube comments think they are going to kill off Lightning, making it clear that they did not read the synopsis. The trailer is pretty graphic, but I was kind of expecting this from reading the synopsis. Most of the films next year look like crap, so this film has a chance.
Yeah, this looks like one of the best animated films of the year after The LEGO Batman Movie, of course.
I am personally numb on the Batman movie, since I didn’t think much of Lego movie, and there will be 3 more films by 2019.

Okay, so this time it’s like a sport movie. It’ll probably be okay. Still, I’ll skip it unless there’s some kind of ingenious twist that explains why sentient cars exist in a world without humans.

I am sick of the Cars franchise at this point. I really wish Pixar would stop making sequels and make something original and brand new again. That’s what their company was founded on.
Well, we do have Coco and I think the two planned Pixar films of the 2020s are originals as well.
