Actor, Christopher Plummer, Dies at 91

Veteran actor, Christopher Plummer, sadly passed away yesterday at the age of 91 due to complications from a fall.

Mr. Plummer (1929-2021) had a filmography of over 200 films including Battle of Britain, The Return of the Pink Panther, The Man Who Would Be King, Murder by Decree, Ordeal by Innocence, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, Malcolm X, 12 Monkeys, National Treasure, Beginners, The Man Who Invented Christmas, All the Money in the World, and Knives Out. But his most famous role was arguably that of Captain Georg von Trapp in the 1965 musical film, The Sound of Music.

He was also no stranger to animation lending his voice to multiple animated films including An American Tail, Rock-a-Doodle, Babes in Toyland, My Dog Tulip, 9, The Legend of Sarila, and The Star. But, his most famous voice role was arguably that of the villainous explorer, Charles Muntz, in Pixar’s Up.

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. He shall be missed.

Disney Wins Animation Awards at 87th Academy Awards!

oscars

Well, the 87th Academy Awards were yesterday and you can check the list of winners here. In terms of animation, Disney won the Best Animated Short and Best Animated Film Oscars for Feast and Big Hero 6, respectively.

I congratulate Disney on this, although I was sure that How to Train Your Dragon 2 was going to win. In the end, I only correctly predicted 12 Oscars this year and couldn’t beat my high score last year of 14. Oh well, there’s always next year, God-willing!
