Wow! I mean…wow! A movie hasn’t amazed and delighted me like this movie has in years! I don’t even know where to begin in praising this movie; I don’t even know how to begin talking about this epic from Studio Ghibli. Continue reading “My Thoughts: SPIRITED AWAY (2001)”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #42: The Rescue Lady

Ok, we’ve finally made it to “Lilo & Stitch”! When I made my list counting down the top 13 animated films that I didn’t like, but everyone else did, I put “Lilo & Stitch” on that list and pretty much all you readers didn’t like that! And of course, pretty much everyone left a comment saying that how I need to watch this film again so that I may change my mind. And I myself was actually looking forward to seeing this film again, since I’ve only seen it once before. So now that I’ve gotten around to it in my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project, I’ve finally got a chance to re-watch film! So what do I think of the film now? When you hear the name, Disney, do you think of treasure hunts? Eradication of civilizations? Pupilless monarchs? Marty McFly? If so, you’ll probably love the movie of today’s focus: “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #41: Fenton Q. Harcourt”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #34: The Boatman

As you all know, “Beauty and the Beast”, is my favorite Disney film; hence it’s not a surprise that I also love “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” which was made by much of the same crew members as the former film.

Released in 1996, Disney’s 34th animated feature is known as one of the darkest Disney Canon films (along with “The Black Cauldron”) as well as the most adult Disney Canon film! This film deals with topics such as racism, prejudice, religion, hell, and even lust! I’m still surprised this film passed with a “G” rating! Nevertheless, it’s one of my favorite Disney films! Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #33: Namontac

Believe it or not, nobody really wanted to make “The Lion King”!

joking

It’s true, the vast majority of people, including Jeffrey Katzenberg himself didn’t think that anyone would actually like or want to see “The Lion King”!

"MUAHAHAHAAAA!"
“MUAHAHAHAAAA!”

Preposterous, I know! Instead, they all wanted to get to work on what would be Disney’s 33rd animated feature, “Pocahontas”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #33: Namontac”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #30: The Old Beggar Woman/The Beautiful Enchantress

Wow, I can’t believe that I’ve done 30 of these already!

I should throw myself a party! How pathetic would that be?

This film received a standing ovation at the New York Film Festival! This film was the first animated film to be nominated for the “Best Picture” award at the Oscars! This film is my favorite animated Disney Canon film! This film is my favorite animated Disney film! This film is my favorite Disney film! This film is my favorite animated film!
