The new year is soon upon us, hence it’s time to take a look at next year’s selection of theatrical animated films! Bear in mind that these are only the animated films with verified US release dates and that any and all dates are subject to change at any time. Enjoy!
When the news was announced that there would be a Toy Story 4, I, like many people, didn’t know what to think. On one hand, I thought Toy Story 3 wrapped the trilogy up nicely and couldn’t be emotionally topped. But on the other hand, at least it wasn’t a live-action remake of an animated Disney film, am I right?
I went to go see the film in theaters and have recently rewatched it on DVD. So I figured, let me share some of my thoughts with you all. Just be warned that there are spoilers!
The prolific voice actress, Russi Taylor, most famous for being the official voice of Disney’s Minnie Mouse has sadly passed away at the age of 75.
I wrote a longer tribute to Mrs. Taylor (1944-2019) on the Rotoscopers website which you can view here.
She shall surely be missed!
In 2018, Disney gave us a sequel that apparently people wanted to see. I was never a fan of the first Wreck-It Ralph film, so I wasn’t enthusiastic about a sequel. Nevertheless, I checked out this sequel directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnston in theaters! Did I feel that Ralph Breaks the Internet was a better film than its predecessor? Read to to find out!
WARNING: There will be spoilers!!
We finally get our first teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming animated sequel, Frozen II! What do you think of this trailer?
I personally am loving what I’m seeing! The overall look of the film is quite distinct and I’m loving the stunning animation! I mean, those waves and cliffs look so real! I also liked the bit of the song that we heard near the end!
The characters seem to be going on a journey, but I wonder what the journey will be. Any ideas?
I still don’t want them to give Elsa a girlfriend in this film; I’d rather her remain single.
Frozen II will hit theaters in the U.S. on November 22, 2019!
In sad news, Ron Miller, the son-in-law of Walt Disney himself has passed away at the age of 85! Mr. Miller (1933-2019), originally an NFL player, was also once the president and CEO of the The Walt Disney Company (after Walt’s death). He helped bring about more experimental Disney films like Tron and The Black Cauldron and created the Touchstone Pictures banner for less family-friendly films. While his leadership during these years is criticized, his loss still hits us hard in the Disney community! He shall be missed!
