We approach Disney’s 44th animated feature, “Brother Bear”! Released in 2003, people were somewhat split in their reactions to this movie. Some loved the film. Others saw it as a sort of a “The Lion King” and “Ice Age” ripoff. Which party do I subscribe to? I’m with the first category of people: I really enjoyed this film! Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #43: The Police Bots
Wow! Just, wow! How could I have forgotten how awesome this movie was?! Wow! I wish I’d have re-watched it sooner, because it definitely would have made its way on the list of my top 13 favorite Disney Canon films!

What film am I talking about? I’m talking about Disney’s 43rd animated feature, “Treasure Planet”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #43: The Police Bots”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #41: Fenton Q. Harcourt
When you hear the name, Disney, do you think of treasure hunts? Eradication of civilizations? Pupilless monarchs? Marty McFly? If so, you’ll probably love the movie of today’s focus: “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #41: Fenton Q. Harcourt”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #40: The Checkers Players
Wow, we’re at #40 already! Only a dozen more films to go before my project is finished!

Well, if you won’t cry, I will! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #40: The Checkers Players”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #39: The Iguanadon Scout
We finally come to the first CGI film in the Disney Canon! Ok, it may not be FULLY CGI (many of the backgrounds are real), but hey, as long as there are no live humans in it, I consider it a CGI film!

And this film is none other than the weakly titled, “Dinosaur”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #39: The Iguanadon Scout”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #38: The Owner of the Toys
Well, we’ve left the glorious age of the Disney Renaissance

and are now in what I like to call, “The…Post-Disney Renaissance/Modern Age”. During this era, the animated Disney features would stop being nigh unanimous critical and commercial hits and would be like they were in the ’70s-’80s, i.e. some would be hits and others wouldn’t.
And today’s film not only showcases its post-Disney Renaissance quality, but also brings us back to the format of package films! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #38: The Owner of the Toys”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #37: The Ship Captain
Sadly, we arrive at the end of the Disney Renaissance!

Well, all good things must come to an end eventually! And this particular era eventually ended in 1999 with Disney’s 37th animated feature, “Tarzan”. Warning: there are some spoilers in this post, so beware if you haven’t seen the movie! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #37: The Ship Captain”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #36: Little Brother
The era is the Disney Renaissance. The year is 1998. The film is “Mulan”.
…
Yeah, that’s pretty much the only introduction I have! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #36: Little Brother”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #35: Penelope the Donkey
Talk about patterns! First, we had a pattern of forgotten/minor characters of royalty; now there seems to be a pattern of forgotten/minor donkey characters! (See my posts on “Pinocchio” and “The Three Caballeros”)!
Oh well, what are you gonna do?
Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #35: Penelope the Donkey”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #34: The Boatman
As you all know, “Beauty and the Beast”, is my favorite Disney film; hence it’s not a surprise that I also love “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” which was made by much of the same crew members as the former film.
Released in 1996, Disney’s 34th animated feature is known as one of the darkest Disney Canon films (along with “The Black Cauldron”) as well as the most adult Disney Canon film! This film deals with topics such as racism, prejudice, religion, hell, and even lust! I’m still surprised this film passed with a “G” rating! Nevertheless, it’s one of my favorite Disney films!
