Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #48: Rhino’s Owner

bolt rhino's owner

We arrive at Disney’s 48th animated feature, “Bolt”. Released in 2008, the film was a bit of a hit and received much critical praise as well as positive reviews. And according to some people, this film was the start of a new age of Disney animation’s resurgence, a sort of “second Disney Renaissance”, if you will. The animation of this film and the future ones would improve dramatically from what the past films have been as would the quality of the films themselves. And this is a film that I myself quite enjoy! Yet, I have to admit that I consider this movie to be the most FORGETTABLE movie in the Disney Canon!

I still like it, but I really forget much of what happens in this movie after I see it, it’s right up there with “Dinosaur” in terms of “forgettability”! So what’s the story? Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #48: Rhino’s Owner”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #47: The College Professor

We are at the 47th film in the animated Disney Canon, “Meet the Robinsons”. Released in 2007, the film wasn’t a huge mega-hit, and I guess it wasn’t really an embarrassing flop either. But in terms of Disney Canon quality, many people put this one pretty low on the list! And…yeah, it’s definitely no masterpiece, but I really enjoy this movie! Maybe, it’s the family element, maybe it’s the time travel element, maybe it’s the overall fun, I dunno!

Oh, let me talk about the film for those of you who haven’t seen it or have no idea what I’m talking about. Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #47: The College Professor”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #46: The Alien Cop

So after Disney made the horrifying announcement that “Home on the Range” would be their last traditionally animated feature, we were anxiously waiting to see what their new fully CGI films would be like. And the first fully CGI film to be released was none other than “Chicken Little”.

Released in 2005, the film wasn’t a financial disappointment; but it definitely didn’t do that well with critics. A majority of people hates this movie or at least considers it to be amongst Disney’s weakest. I (as I’ve explained in an earlier post) actually enjoy this film. Sure, it’s stupid and the characters aren’t likable for the most part, but I just can’t help enjoying this movie every time I see it (which has been only twice, so far). So what’s the movie about? Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #46: The Alien Cop”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #45: The Chinese Man

I apologize for the lateness of this post; it took me a while to obtain a copy of today’s film, “Home on the Range”.

Released in 2004, the 45th film in the Disney Canon frightened many of us because it was meant to be the last traditionally animated film in the Disney Canon!

And thank God that it wasn't!
And thank God that it wasn’t!

So, without further ado, let’s get right to talking about the film! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #45: The Chinese Man”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #44: The Croatian Bear

We approach Disney’s 44th animated feature, “Brother Bear”! Released in 2003, people were somewhat split in their reactions to this movie. Some loved the film. Others saw it as a sort of a “The Lion King” and “Ice Age” ripoff. Which party do I subscribe to? I’m with the first category of people: I really enjoyed this film! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #44: The Croatian Bear”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #43: The Police Bots

Wow! Just, wow! How could I have forgotten how awesome this movie was?! Wow! I wish I’d have re-watched it sooner, because it definitely would have made its way on the list of my top 13 favorite Disney Canon films!

Sorry, “Meet the Robinsons”, you’re the weakest link! Goodbye!

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #42: The Rescue Lady

Ok, we’ve finally made it to “Lilo & Stitch”! When I made my list counting down the top 13 animated films that I didn’t like, but everyone else did, I put “Lilo & Stitch” on that list and pretty much all you readers didn’t like that! And of course, pretty much everyone left a comment saying that how I need to watch this film again so that I may change my mind. And I myself was actually looking forward to seeing this film again, since I’ve only seen it once before. So now that I’ve gotten around to it in my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project, I’ve finally got a chance to re-watch film! So what do I think of the film now? Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #42: The Rescue Lady”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #41: Fenton Q. Harcourt

When you hear the name, Disney, do you think of treasure hunts? Eradication of civilizations? Pupilless monarchs? Marty McFly? If so, you’ll probably love the movie of today’s focus: “Atlantis: The Lost Empire”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #41: Fenton Q. Harcourt”

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #40: The Checkers Players

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #39: The Iguanadon Scout

We finally come to the first CGI film in the Disney Canon! Ok, it may not be FULLY CGI (many of the backgrounds are real), but hey, as long as there are no live humans in it, I consider it a CGI film!

Which is why I don't consider these to be animated films!
Which is why I don’t consider these to be animated films!

And this film is none other than the weakly titled, “Dinosaur”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #39: The Iguanadon Scout”
