Actress Pat Carroll Dies at 95

In sad news, actress Pat Carroll has passed away at the age of 95. Ms. Carroll (1927-2022) appeared in multiple films and television series over the years, but she’ll be best remembered as the voice of the villainess, Ursula, in Disney’s The Little Mermaid and related properties.

Other animated projects wherein she lent her voice include The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (as Ursula’s sister, Morgana), Pound Puppies, A Garfield Christmas, and Garfield’s Thanksgiving.

She shall be missed!

My Thoughts: SING 2 (2021)

I overall enjoyed the first Sing film. I thought it was really entertaining to have an animated jukebox musical film set around a theater performance and I overall enjoyed the characters. Sing 2, on the other hand, well…read on for my thoughts.

My Top 13 Blue Sky Studios Films

With the release of their first film in 2002, Blue Sky Studios quickly proved itself to be an animation studio of note. Maybe never ranking alongside Walt Disney Animation Studios or Pixar, but it would definitely be mentioned among the secondary tier of animation studios.

Unfortunately, Blue Sky Studios went defunct in April 2021 after Disney acquired 21st Century Fox. To pay tribute to them, I’ve decided to make a top 13 list ranking their (conveniently 13) films from my least favorite to my favorite!

This film doesn’t count!

So sit back and enjoy!

Warning, there may be mild spoilers.

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried Dies at 67

In incredibly sad news, beloved comedian, actor, and voice actor, Gilbert Gottfried has passed away. Mr. Gottfried (1955-2022) was a stand-up comedian with very raunchy material, but was well-known for his voicework in animated projects.

Some of these include Thumbelina, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Animal Crackers, and Cyberchase. But his most famous voice role was that of the parrot, Iago, in Disney’s Aladdin franchise and other projects.

He shall be missed!

My Thoughts: TURNING RED (2022)

Sigh…the more I think about this film, the more I hate it! Sorry, you can already tell that this is going to be a negative review.

Pixar’s 25th film, Turning Red, was the third Pixar film in a row to be released on Disney+ instead of theaters. At first, I wasn’t supportive of this decision, but after seeing this film, I think it was the right thing to do. Without further ado, let’s take a look at Turning Red!

Warning: There will be spoilers ahead!

94th Academy Awards Results!

Alas, the 94th Academy Awards have ended and the biggest takeaway rom it is when Will Smith slapped Chris Rock after Chris made a joke about Jada’s hair loss. Besides that, the ceremony wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, although I really hated how they ruined the We Don’t Talk About Bruno performance (and why did they perform it anyway?).

My score this year was 16/23 which is my second-best score! In terms of animation, Encanto won Best Animated Feature and The Windshield Wiper won Best Animated Short.
