DisneyToon Studios Shuts Down!

The big, sad news currently in the Disney world is that DisneyToon Studios has been shut down! For those unfamiliar with it, DisneyToon Studios was Disney’s second animation studio which produced a few theatrical films (such as A Goofy Movie, The Tigger Movie, Return to Never Land, The Jungle Book 2, the Planes films, etc.), but was more famous for producing direct-to-video films (such as the Aladdin sequels, the Beauty and the Beast sequels, the Cinderella sequels, the The Hunchback of Notre Dame sequel, the Mulan sequel, the Tinker Bell films, etc.)

Producing a good 47 films, the studio was even working on a Planes spin-off film, but due to the shutdown, said film is no longer in development. For more on the shutdown, read this: https://www.indiewire.com/2018/06/disneytoon-studios-shuts-down-disney-glendale-1201979736/.

What is your favorite DisneyToon Studios film? Mine is probably The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride.

Official ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2’ Trailer Debuts!

An official trailer for Disney’s upcoming Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 has debuted!

So what do I like about this trailer? Well, I’m loving how the animation is as good as its predecessor, the voicework seems to be the same, and that the Internet lends itself to numerous possibilities for a plot! Also, I LOVE Alan Tudyk’s KnowsMore character and how the filmmakers raised our concerns as to why the film isn’t titled Ralph Wrecks the Internet!

In terms of cons, I wish that the trailer gave us more of the plot. And although I do like the Princesses scene (like, mind you, not love), I am upset that “Belle” seems to suggest that she was kidnapped or enslaved. I know that they did this as a joke, but I feel Belle would be the first to tell you that was neither kidnapped nor enslaved and would be upset if you thought otherwise.

All in all, I’m hoping to like this film more than its predecessor, which I’m not really a fan of. Gotta wait till November 21, 2018 to find out!

Actor David Ogden Stiers Dies at 75!

In sad news today, actor David Ogden Stiers, has passed away at the age of 75! Mr. Stiers (1942-2018) was known for his role in the TV series, M*A*S*H, as well as for his voice performances in multiple films including:

Beauty and the Beast as Cogsworth,

Pocahontas as General Ratcliffe,

Lilo & Stitch as Dr. Jumba,

and The Hunchback of Notre Dame as the Archdeacon.

He shall definitely be missed!
