In Illumination Entertainment’s second film of the year, a koala hires his best friend black sheep to help him run his theater business. The film is said to be somewhat of a jukebox musical composed of 85 songs! W/the voices of Matthew McConaughey, Seth MacFarlane, Reese Witherspoon, John C. Reilly, Scarlett Johansson, etc.

That’s all the animated films that I know of that have American release dates so far! My top 3 most awaited of these are Finding Dory, Zootopia, and Sing. Let me know what yours are in the comments below!

  1. Zootopia and Moana for me…otherwise I have a really bad feeling concerning this line-up.

What about The Little Prince? It will finally hit the screens in the US at the beginning of the year, doesn’t it?

    1. Oh, no interest in Kubo and the Two Strings either? It looks pretty good. I just love the concept of Sing. And Storks look beautifully colored and enjoyable.

Oh yeah, forgot about The Little Prince! Did you see it yet since it was released in Europe already?

‘Animal Crackers’ is another animated film scheduled for next year, but no date has been announced yet.

      1. Remember, I didn’t like the trailer for Storks. Kubo and the Two Strings doesn’t look bad and it is Laika, which is certainly a plus, but the information concerning the movie is too vague so far.

Yeah, I saw it…it’s a little bit frustrating, because the movie starts outstanding and then becomes less and less interesting with every passing minute. But it is certainly worth the watch.

  2. My order of anticipation is 1. Moana, 2. Finding Dory, 3. Kubo and the Strings, 4. Zootopia, 5. Little Prince, 6. Storks, 7. Secret Life of Pets.
I have a feeling with my love of Princess movies and Polynesia I will love Moana!

      1. Yeah Secret Life of Pets will probably suck but I thought the trailer was ok. I actually dont know anything about Sing so need to read up.

  3. Oh God, another Ice Age movie?! The first movie was good and didn’t need a follow up and they were already pushing it with the third film.

Kung Fu Panda 3 looks disappointing

I can already see the lame, unfunny, and tired baby jokes in Storks.

    Trolls? Yeah, I don’t know.

Ratchet and Clank has a lot of potential to be good.

An R-rated animated film? Haven’t seen those in a LONG while. I don’t think it’ll make much money though since parents usually don’t pay much attention to ratings when it comes to animated films.

Zootopia looks really fun and hilarious.

Moana has a lot of potential to be really good.

    The rest…..eh.

  4. Hello! I’ve been following your blog for quite a while now and really enjoyed the stuff that you put out, but never bothered to comment. So this will be the first time I’ll be commenting on your blog.

I have to say that 2016 looks like a sausage interesting year for animation, as there will be more animated films released in theatres than ever before. The films I’m looking forward to the most are Kung Fu Panda 3, Zootopia, Finding Dory, Sausage Party and Moana.

      1. I meant to say “really interesting” instead of “sausage interesting”. My bad.

I’ve been following you for a few months now.

  5. Finally getting a chance to catch up on blog posts! (I’m a bit behind…)

Zootopia looks really funny! The sloth trailer played at my local cinema and the entire theater was laughing.

My top two picks are probably Finding Dory and Moana though. (Lin Manuel Miranda is doing the music for the latter, so I’m mostly excited for that.)

  6. Now that Norm of the North is out, I’m fearful for this year’s animated movies, considering that critics and audiences are hating it.
