Lyricist Richard M. Sherman Dies at 95

Lyricist Richard M. Sherman has sadly passed away at the age of 95. Mr. Sherman (1928-2024) along with his brother, Robert, composed and wrote the songs for a plethora of Disney projects.

These included animated films (such as The Jungle Book and The Aristocats) to live-action films (such as Mary Poppins and Bedknobs and Broomsticks) to theme park attractions (such as It’s a Small World and Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress).

The prolific duo even did songs for non-Disney films such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Snoopy, Come Home, Tom Sawyer, Charlotte’s Web, The Slipper and the Rose, and Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland.

Our condolences go out to his family and friends. He will be sorely missed!

My Top 13 Favorite Animated Disney (Canon) Films (2024 Edition)!

The first Top 13 list I did for this blog was actually about my favorite animated Disney Canon films. It was one of my most popular posts, if not my most popular post on this blog! However, that was 11 years ago and with all the films added to the Canon since then, I feel it’s time for a new list!

So sit back and relax for my updated Top 13 Favorite Animated Disney (Canon) Films list!

96th Academy Awards Results!

Well, the 96th Academy Awards have ended and I’ve recovered from my abysmal score last year by predicting 13/23 correct this time! Not my best, but I’ll take it!

I don’t think there was any really surprising picks this year. I feel many categories were gonna be one of two winners and that may have helped with the predictions.

In terms of animation, Studio Ghibli’s The Boy and the Heron won Best Animated Feature and War Is Over! Inspired by the Music of John and Yoko won Best Animated Short.

My 96th Academy Awards Predictions!

It’s that time of year again: Oscars time!  Jimmy Kimmel will be hosting the ceremony for the fourth time. After my abysmal score last year, I’m hoping I do better this year!

Here are my predictions for the 96th Academy Awards! The ones that I think SHOULD win will be in RED, the ones that I think WILL win will be in BLUE, and if they’re both the same, they will be both RED AND BLUE. I have left my picks for Best Animated FeatureBest Supporting ActorBest Supporting ActressBest ActorBest Actress, and Best Picture for the end.

Let me know your thoughts!

My Thoughts: WISH (2023)

The 62nd film in the animated Disney Canon had a big role to play as it would be released during the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Studios! Do I think Disney’s Wish lived up to this hype? If not, do I at least think it’s a good enough film on its own?

Keep in mind that I’ll only be mentioning theatrical and streaming films with set (US) release dates and that I won’t be mentioning any live-action/animated hybrid films.

My Thoughts: THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN (2008-2009)

Having seen the animated Spider-Man television series from the 90s as well as its spiritual successor, Spider-Man: Unlimited, I feel animated Spider-Man television series can do no wrong! To further cement that opinion in me, I’ve since watched a third animated Spider-Man television series entitled The Spectacular Spider-Man

Read on for my thoughts!
