Pixar-Forgotten/Minor Characters #14: Professor Brandywine

We’re finally at the last Pixar film that I have to do for this project, Monsters University (until Inside Out becomes old enough for me to pick a forgotten/minor character from).

I’ve reviewed the film before on this blog and my views of the film are pretty much the same. So, I won’t go over my thoughts on the film or the plot, so if you want to know that, please read my review by clicking here.

My Thoughts: HOWL’S MOVING CASTLE (2004)

I was a guy who up until late 2013/early 2014 never watched anything that had to do with anime. It just never interested me and I couldn’t stand the way anime characters move (I’m weird)! Thankfully, I decided to relent and watch a film from this Studio Ghibli which was apparently the Walt Disney of Japan. And I’m glad I made that decision!

If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have been introduced to the great storytelling, colorful animation, and just inventive premises and characters that Studio Ghibli films have to offer. And the film of today’s review provides all of the above! Let’s talk about Howl’s Moving Castle.

Pixar-Forgotten/Minor Characters #4: The Lady with the Kids

Monsters, Inc. is my favorite Pixar film! I feel that the premise is super creative and nigh every aspect of the film is perfect!

Released in 2001, the film was about a fictional monster world in which the energy of the world was powered by human children’s screams. In the energy company, Monsters, Inc., trained scarer monsters would travel through scientifically advanced doors that allowed them to enter the human world and scare kids. The screams from the kids would generate power for the company and the monster world.

My Thoughts: MONSTERS UNIVERSITY (2013)

Pre-Order-Monsters-University

I wasn’t too excited when I heard that a prequel to “Monsters, Inc.” was in the making. Yes, I LOVE “Monsters, Inc.” (it’s my favorite Pixar film), so I was excited to see my favorite characters return in a cinematic production. But at the same time, I didn’t want to be disappointed by them appearing in a less-than-mediocre prequel.

Anyway, I finally watched the movie. What did I think of it? Well, let’s talk about the film first. Continue reading “My Thoughts: MONSTERS UNIVERSITY (2013)”

“Monsters University” Passes!

Monsters-University banner

Pixar’s 14th animated feature, “Monsters University”, has shown itself to be an A-level movie and has opened at the #1 slot (as all the Pixar films have done) in the United States and Canada over the weekend! The prequel to “Monsters Inc.” earned a monstrous $82 million over the weekend, Pixar’s 2nd biggest opener ever (after “Toy Story 3”)! And to top it all off, the film has been receiving pretty much positive reviews!

Have you seen this movie? What did you think of it? If not, do you plan on seeing it? And if so, when? I personally haven’t seen it yet, but definitely plan to see it when it comes on DVD.
