Ok, we’ve finally made it to “Lilo & Stitch”! When I made my list counting down the top 13 animated films that I didn’t like, but everyone else did, I put “Lilo & Stitch” on that list and pretty much all you readers didn’t like that! And of course, pretty much everyone left a comment saying that how I need to watch this film again so that I may change my mind. And I myself was actually looking forward to seeing this film again, since I’ve only seen it once before. So now that I’ve gotten around to it in my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project, I’ve finally got a chance to re-watch film! So what do I think of the film now? Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #39: The Iguanadon Scout

We finally come to the first CGI film in the Disney Canon! Ok, it may not be FULLY CGI (many of the backgrounds are real), but hey, as long as there are no live humans in it, I consider it a CGI film!

Which is why I don't consider these to be animated films!

And this film is none other than the weakly titled, “Dinosaur”! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #39: The Iguanadon Scout”

“Epic” Opens Up To A Less Than Epic Opening At #4!

epic

Blue Sky Studios’ “Epic” opens up to a less than epic domestic box office opening at #4! Grossing $32 million, the film made about as much as was predicted by most “experts”. In terms of worldwide gross, the film has made about $77 million, so it may have potential to be a hit after all! Have you seen it? If so, did you like it? If not, do you plan on seeing it?

Well, we’ve left the glorious age of the Disney Renaissance

It's ok! You may cry!

and are now in what I like to call, “The…Post-Disney Renaissance/Modern Age”. During this era, the animated Disney features would stop being nigh unanimous critical and commercial hits and would be like they were in the ’70s-’80s, i.e. some would be hits and others wouldn’t.

And today’s film not only showcases its post-Disney Renaissance quality, but also brings us back to the format of package films! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #38: The Owner of the Toys”

It's ok! You may cry!
It’s ok! You may cry!

Well, all good things must come to an end eventually! And this particular era eventually ended in 1999 with Disney’s 37th animated feature, “Tarzan”. Warning: there are some spoilers in this post, so beware if you haven’t seen the movie! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #37: The Ship Captain”

My Thoughts: THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1987/1988)

phantom of the opera

Today’s review is the first one that has ever been requested of me.

The name of the requester is Jegsy Scarr, an often viewer of my blog. She is an ardent fan of “The Phantom of the Opera”, so much so as to even compose FanFiction about it. And being a fan of “The Phantom of the Opera”, she suggested that I review either “A Monster in Paris” or an animated version of “The Phantom of the Opera”.

Well, seeing as how I’ve not seen the former yet; the latter is the focus of this post! Continue reading “My Thoughts: THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA (1987/1988)”

My Thoughts: FRANKENWEENIE (2012)

Tim Burton movies are always…well, most of the time…enjoyable!

"They call me Tim Most-Of-The-Time-Enjoyable Burton!"
“They call me Tim Most-Of-The-Time-Enjoyable Burton!”

And this is no exception! It’s a wonderfully made stop-motion animated remake of an earlier short of the same name directed by Tim Burton.

I had completely forgotten that it was a live-action short!
I had completely forgotten that it was a live-action short!

The film received positive reviews, critical praise, and was even nominated for the “Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film”! And now, I have something very controversial to say! Continue reading “My Thoughts: FRANKENWEENIE (2012)”
