I’ve Been Tagged!

tag_youre_it

Ok, so apparently, there’s this phenomenon called “tagging” in WordPress, and I’ve just been tagged by Meera Darji, a fellow lover and reviewer of films. Check her blog out!

What this means is that I have to answer 11 questions that she asked me. Then, I have to “tag” 11 fellow bloggers and ask them 11 different questions. So, this should be fun! Continue reading “I’ve Been Tagged!”

Actress Annette Funicello Dies at 70!

annette funicello

Not only did we lose ex-Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013) today,

margaret thatcher

but we also lost a Disney legend, Annette Funicello (1942-2013)!

Annette Funicello was one of the original Mouseketeers,

and continued doing work for Disney including acting in films such as “The Shaggy Dog”, “Babes in Toyland”, “The Misadventures of Merlin Jones”, and “The Monkey’s Uncle”.

If I had grown up with her movies, she probably would have made it to my "crushes" list!
If I had grown up with her movies, she probably would have made it to my “crushes” list!

She also was a singer and became the first female singer to reach a top 10 slot for a rock and roll song with the hit, “Tall Paul”, written by the not yet extremely famous, Sherman Brothers.

"Even before we were famous, we were awesome!"

Her death saddens me and she’ll be greatly missed!

Sigh...she was quite beautiful, wasn't she?

rise-of-the-guardians-dvd-cover-40

As you may know, I’m not a fanatical fan of Dreamworks Animation films; but I still have seen almost all of them and for the most part, enjoy what I see. But I’ve never been ecstatic or pumped up to see any one of their films….that is, until “Rise of the Guardians”

When I saw the trailer for this film and the gorgeous animation/animated effects, I was mesmerized in a way that I’ve never been before in regards to a Dreamworks Animation film! And being a guy who doesn’t really go to the cinemas to see films; I was anxiously awaiting the DVD release of this film so that I could finally see it! And then, when this film didn’t do as well as the company had hoped for; I was shocked and that further fueled my desire to see this film!

Well, I finally watched it! So, what do I think? Well, let’s see! Continue reading “My Thoughts: RISE OF THE GUARDIANS (2012)”

Hello Podcast Listeners

As you may heard me say on the podcast before I am an enormous fan of animation, thats Disney, Pixar, Cartoon Network, all of those mind blowing animated companies. So it probably comes as no surprise to you that i plan to direct animated features in the future. As a paying job! Thats right, ever since in college where i learned how animation was made, i’ve wanted to make one of my very own. It’s so neat!

Well, now I’m giving myself that chance! I’m revamping a 29 page children’s book i wrote and illustrated in college called Moon Bear, giving it a make-over, and flipping it around into a fully colored hand drawn animated short film!

Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #29: The Hawaiian Operator

hawaiian operator

We arrive at the 29th film in the Disney Canon, “The Rescuers Down Under”. It’s the first animated sequel to a Disney film (“The Rescuers”), as well as the first sequel in the Canon itself. And in my opinion, it’s better than the original, but not vastly better! So let’s take a look into this film! Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #29: The Hawaiian Operator”

Puppeteer Jane Henson Dies at 78!

Janehenson2

Jane Henson, puppeteer and widow of puppeteer Jim Henson, died today, April 2, 2013 at the age of 78! She, along with her husband were responsible for creating the lovable characters, “The Muppets”, and she herself helped perform as some of the Muppets alongside her husband! She later stopped to raise her children, but still was involved with hiring and helping future puppeteers such as Steve Whitmire and Frank Oz!

We’ll truly miss her and hopefully “The Muppets…Again!” will be dedicated to her!
