Well, the hostless 91st Academy Awards have come and went! My score this year was 14/24 which isn’t one of my better scores (Black Panther sure surprised me with the awards it won!). But, there’s always next year!
In terms of animation, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse won Best Animated Feature and Bao won Best Animated Short.

After having both an animated short and a live-action film adaptation, it wasn’t long before Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas received an animated film adaptation. Is this version from Illumination Entertainment the best of the three? Well, here are my thoughts. Caution: Some spoilers below!
Once again, it’s Oscars season! Listed below are my predictions for the winners of this year’s 91st Academy Awards ceremony! Like usual, I leave the top 6 awards for the end (Best Animated Feature, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Picture). The nominees that I think SHOULD win will be in red, the nominees that I think WILL win will be in blue, and if they’re the same, they will be both red and blue. Enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments below!
We finally get our first teaser trailer for Disney’s upcoming animated sequel, Frozen II! What do you think of this trailer?
I personally am loving what I’m seeing! The overall look of the film is quite distinct and I’m loving the stunning animation! I mean, those waves and cliffs look so real! I also liked the bit of the song that we heard near the end!
The characters seem to be going on a journey, but I wonder what the journey will be. Any ideas?
I still don’t want them to give Elsa a girlfriend in this film; I’d rather her remain single.
Frozen II will hit theaters in the U.S. on November 22, 2019!
The English actor, Albert Finney, has sadly passed away at the age of 82! Mr. Finney (1936-2019) was most famous for his roles in Tom Jones, Scrooge, Annie, Big Fish, Skyfall, and my favorite performance of his in one of my favorite films, Murder on the Orient Express!
In terms of animation, he voiced the character of Mr. Everglot in Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride.
He shall be missed!
Smallfoot was a film that I knew existed, but not much else. I knew it was made by Warner Animation Group, the same division that brought us The Lego Movie, and I knew that it had something to do with yetis, but other than that, I didn’t know what to expect. I can safely say that I was pleasantly surprised after viewing it.
(There will be mild spoilers below.)
It’s about time for another Top 13 list! In preparation for the February U.S. release of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, I decided to rewatch all of the DreamWorks Animation films. DreamWorks Animation, to me, is hit-or-miss, so sometimes it was quite a challenge watching these films. But other times, I quite enjoyed watching these films! Below, I have listed my top 13 favorite DreamWorks Animation films. A few points to keep in mind:
1) This is my personal list of which ones I liked best; it’s not necessarily which ones I think are the best made films. Also this is my list as of now; if you ask me again in the future, this list may change due to personal fluctuations.
2) For personal religious reasons, I haven’t seen The Prince of Egypt nor do I choose to. So don’t be surprised when you see it missing from this list! I’m sure it’s a wonderful film, but I choose not to watch it.
3) I also haven’t seen Joseph: King of Dreams both for personal religious reasons as stated above as well as because it’s a direct-to-video film and I don’t want to compare it alongside the theatrical films.
Now that that’s taken care of, here are my top 13! Hope you enjoy!

It’s that time of year again: the time we take a look at what next year has to offer us in terms of theatrical animation! Bear in mind that these are only the animated films with verified US release dates and that any and all dates are subject to change at any time. (And for the purposes of this blog, I am not including Disney’s upcoming The Lion King remake in this list!) Enjoy!
Pixar has announced that the title of their March 6, 2020 release will be Onward. Taking place in “a suburban fantasy world”, the film will be about two teenage elf brothers “who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there.” The film will be directed by Dan Scanlon (Monsters University) and feature the voice talents of Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer.

Are you excited for this film? I personally am! It’s always interesting to see a new original idea from Pixar and I’m pleased with the voice cast.
Hello, readers! Well, Season 5 of my WWTBAM-Animation Edition games has finally ended! Nobody made it to the million, but Andrew Garrison won the season by having the highest combined score from both rounds: 128000 pts! This means that he wins a $10 Amazon gift card from me!
I wanna thank all the other contestants who took part in this season as well as Swanpride for being the designated “Expert” this season! Finally, I would like to thank all of you who watched these episodes and I hope you enjoyed them!
