“Free Birds” Proves To Be a Turkey!
Reel FX Creative Studios’ first theatrically released animated film, “Free Birds”, didn’t really change much in the pecking order of things. The film opened to 4th place in the box office (US and Canada) with a total weekend gross of a mere $16 million. The film doesn’t seem likely to be a hit battling both a $55 million budget as well as nigh unanimously negative critical reviews. Continue reading ““Free Birds” Proves To Be a Turkey!”
1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!
It’s been a year since I started this blog!!!! WOO!!!!
I never thought I’d have the stamina to keep up with a blog, much less keep up with it for a year. Nor did I think much people would read it, but I have over 120 subscribers! Thanks so much to you all for making this a successful blog! Hopefully my other blog, “My Live Action Disney Project” will become just as popular!
In honor of my one-year anniversary, let me know in the comments what your favorite post on my blog has been and what your least favorite has been.
Thanks once again!
My Thoughts: MONSTERS UNIVERSITY (2013)
I wasn’t too excited when I heard that a prequel to “Monsters, Inc.” was in the making. Yes, I LOVE “Monsters, Inc.” (it’s my favorite Pixar film), so I was excited to see my favorite characters return in a cinematic production. But at the same time, I didn’t want to be disappointed by them appearing in a less-than-mediocre prequel.
Anyway, I finally watched the movie. What did I think of it? Well, let’s talk about the film first. Continue reading “My Thoughts: MONSTERS UNIVERSITY (2013)”
Questions Regarding My Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project
Hey readers,
As you may know, I’ve finished my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project. I’m currently working on a conclusion where I wrap up the project and my thoughts regarding the journey. I would also like to answer any questions you may have in it. So if you have any questions regarding the project and my journey through it, please leave them in the comments below and I’ll do my best to answer them in my forthcoming conclusion.
Thanks!
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #52: Markowski
The day is finally here! We’ve come to the last film in the Disney Canon, hence the last entry of my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project.

Sigh…well, can’t cry now; we have to get through this. We are in the year 2012 and in the film, “Wreck-It Ralph”.
The film, about a video game bad guy who wants to be treated better by his good guy game companions, became a HUGE success at the box office and with critics and was even nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. I won’t discuss the plot of the film, since pretty much everybody’s seen it, so let’s go straight to our forgotten/minor character. My Thoughts: THE CROODS (2013)
I really wasn’t looking forward to any of Dreamworks Animation’s films that were coming out this year. “The Croods” seemed stupid and boring. “Turbo” seemed stupid and boring. And “Mr. Peabody & Sherman” (which was pushed back to a 2014 release) seemed…well….I had no interest in it, since I wasn’t familiar with the original show that it was based on. So all in all, I wasn’t looking forward to watching any of these.
But when you’re “The Animation Commendation”, it’s a sin not to watch these movies and even more a sin not to review them. With that said, I ended up watching “The Croods” when it came out on DVD. What’d I think? It was boring and I didn’t like it.

Ok, I’ll be more detailed about it. Continue reading “My Thoughts: THE CROODS (2013)”
Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #51: The Backson
Sigh…
I REALLY REALLY was not looking forward to re-watching “Winnie the Pooh” for two reasons! The first reason was, as I’ve talked about in other posts, I REALLY don’t like this movie! And the second reason was that I had so much trouble picking a forgotten/minor character for “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”, and now I’d have to go through all that trouble again. I mean, who’s forgotten/minor in the “Winnie the Pooh” franchise?! UGH!!! Moving on… Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #51: The Backson”
Rotoscopers.com
Hey all,
I just wanted you lovers of animation to know about a site that I love called Rotoscopers. It’s a site run by other animation fanatics wherein they post the latest news in animated films as well as provide animation-related podcasts and reviews. They also have a Youtube channel wherein they post animation-related video reviews and discussions.
It’s an incredible site and probably my favorite site for animation news because of its relatable content. It has wonderful, friendly people running the site and has an easy-to-maneuver website. If you’re an animation addict, please check them out at Rotoscopers.com.
Box Office Forecast: “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” Overshadows Weekend
Sony Animation’s “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” has taken the #1 spot in the US/Canada weekend box office with a gross of $35 million! I really loved the first movie and from the trailer, this one seemed so creative, mainly due to the designs, idea, and the plethora of food puns! I haven’t seen it yet, but I definitely plan to!
Have you seen it? What did you think? If you haven’t, do you plan on seeing it?
