I apologize for the lateness of this post; it took me a while to obtain a copy of today’s film, “Home on the Range”.
Released in 2004, the 45th film in the Disney Canon frightened many of us because it was meant to be the last traditionally animated film in the Disney Canon!
Well, it’s finally happened! Somebody has figured out the surprise puzzle and that somebody is a frequent visitor to this blog, Ophiuchus! So, a big hand for him!
Well, as some of you may know, “Saving Mr. Banks” is not only my #1 awaited Disney film of this year, but it’s also my #1 awaited film of this year, period! Telling the true story of how Walt Disney obtained the rights for “Mary Poppins” from its extremely reluctant and obstinate author, P.L. Travers, when I heard of this film being made, I was ambivalent! I was extremely excited to see this amazing story reach the masses, yet at the same time, I was reluctant to see how Walt Disney and the other key Disney people at the time would be portrayed. Well, time to update the puzzle again! This time, there was a tie for the most-guessed letter, so in cases like these, I get to choose which letter to select and I’ve selected “N”. So the updated puzzle is:
__ __ __ E / __ __ __ __ __ N / __ __ __ N E __ / __ __ __ __ E __ / R E __ __ E __ __
Keep guessing letters in the comments until I update the puzzle again! The letters guessed so far have been “E”, “R”, and “N”.
Wow, I never thought that I’d ever make it to 75 followers; but it seems that I have! I’ve made posts when I got to 25 followers and 50 followers thanking and recognizing each one of them. So I shall do the same and continue from #51! Again, thanks to all of you who make my blog feel loved! Continue reading “I’ve Got 75 Followers!”
So, on the last update, the most guessed letter was “E”, so the updated puzzle is now
__ __ __ E / __ __ __ __ __ __ / __ __ __ __ E __ / __ __ __ __ E __ / R E __ __ E __ __
Keep guessing letters in the comments and I’ll re-update the puzzle in a couple of days with the most-guessed letter. So far, the only letters used have been “R” and “E”.
For those who don’t know: I have a surprise coming up in a few weeks for you all! But, you all have to guess what it is by filling in the following blanks with letters! So far, the only letter guessed has been R, so the updated puzzle is:
Well, I have a surprise to give to you readers of this blog in a few weeks! It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I think you all will enjoy it!
Oh, you want some hints, do you? Well, it’s Disney-related, of course! And…hmm…well, how about we play a guessing game to figure it out? Ok, here’s the puzzle: Continue reading “Surprise Coming Soon!”
Well, it’s time for yet ANOTHER “Top 13” list! Do celebrate!
Party pooper! Anyway, seeing as I did a “My Top 13 Animated Movies That I Don’t Like, But Everyone Else Does” list, it only makes sense to do a “My Top 13 Animated Movies That I Like, But Everyone Else Doesn’t” list!
Again, the ideas for these lists comes from Internet celebrity, Doug Walker, of “The Nostalgia Critic” fame!
Warning: He’s a bit foul-mouthed when he plays “The Nostalgia Critic”!
I know you’re excited to start reading, but like always, I have to give you a few cautionary notices first:
1) I find myself constantly going back and forth between favorites in lists. I may look back at this list in the future and wonder why my #5 was not in the #10 spot, or why my #12 was not in the #2 spot, or why my #3 was even on the list to begin with! But as of May 2013, this is my list!
2) When I say that these are films that I like, but everyone else doesn’t; who exactly are “everyone else”? Am I referring to the general public or to the critics or both? Well, in the last “Top 13” list, I took “everyone else” to mean both the general public AND the critics!
In this list however, I’m more inclined to say that “everyone else” may refer to both parties as well, but MORE towards the critics! The reason I say this is that I believe public opinion is so varied, that even a bad film can have a huge fan following! And I’m sure some of you will actually like some of the films that I’m about to list! But, these are all films that the critics are not happy about and a good chunk of the general public think are bad; and that’s the main reason why I say that “everyone else” doesn’t like these films!
3) How exactly am I ranking these movies? I’m ranking them purely on how much I like them and/or would want to re-watch. Films in the top 5 are movies that I love more and want to re-watch more than films in the 13th and 12th spots, for example!
Well, that’s about all I have to say before we venture into this “Top 13” list!
