87th Academy Award Nominations Announced!

Well, it’s that time again: OSCARS TIME!!!! The nominations have been announced and can all be found here. But, I’ll just list the animated films nominations below:

BEST ANIMATED FEATURE FILM:

BEST ANIMATED SHORT FILM:

Let me just say that I (along with many other people) am SHOCKED that The LEGO Movie wasn’t nominated for Best Animated Feature Film! What the heck?!!!!

I’m also surprised that Glen Keane’s Duet wasn’t nominated for Best Animated Short Film!

My Thoughts: HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 (2014)

When How to Train Your Dragon was released in 2014, it was a huge hit! Both critics and the hoi polloi raved over it! I considered it my favorite Dreamworks Animation film at the time (later taken over by Rise of the Guardians)! So, as you can imagine, all of us (including myself) were awaiting this second installment in the trilogy.

So, the Academy has announced that 20 films are qualified as contenders to be nominated for the Best Animated Feature Academy Award in the upcoming 87th Academy Awards ceremony. Well, 2013 is about to come to an end, so you know what that means!
