As you may know, I’ve finished my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project. I’m currently working on a conclusion where I wrap up the project and my thoughts regarding the journey. I would also like to answer any questions you may have in it. So if you have any questions regarding the project and my journey through it, please leave them in the comments below and I’ll do my best to answer them in my forthcoming conclusion.
The day is finally here! We’ve come to the last film in the Disney Canon, hence the last entry of my Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Project.
“WAAAH!!!!”
Sigh…well, can’t cry now; we have to get through this. We are in the year 2012 and in the film, “Wreck-It Ralph”.
The film, about a video game bad guy who wants to be treated better by his good guy game companions, became a HUGE success at the box office and with critics and was even nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. I won’t discuss the plot of the film, since pretty much everybody’s seen it, so let’s go straight to our forgotten/minor character. I REALLY REALLY was not looking forward to re-watching “Winnie the Pooh” for two reasons! The first reason was, as I’ve talked about in other posts, I REALLY don’t like this movie! And the second reason was that I had so much trouble picking a forgotten/minor character for “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”, and now I’d have to go through all that trouble again. I mean, who’s forgotten/minor in the “Winnie the Pooh” franchise?! UGH!!! Moving on… Continue reading “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters #51: The Backson”
We’ve FINALLY gotten a full-length theatrical trailer for Disney’s upcoming animated film to be added to their canon, “Frozen”. Yes, we had a teaser trailer before, but it didn’t show anything about the plot. So what do you all think about the trailer? And what do you think about the movie now that you’ve seen the trailer?
Personally, I’m not extremely impressed. It seems that much of the film is focusing on the journey taken by the characters Anna and Kristoff more than the actual plot and goings-on in the film. Then again, that’s just how it SEEMS to me.
I also am not sure what to think of Kristen Bell’s voice acting as Anna. And I’m really disappointed that we couldn’t hear Idina Menzel’s voice nor hear her sing one of the many songs in the trailer.
All in all, I’m skeptical about whether this film will be a hit or not. Nevertheless, I will DEFINITELY try to see it!
Note to self: Use Olaf’s “Worth Melting For” line on future wife; maybe she’ll like it.
When Disney announced that “Home on the Range” would be the last traditionally animated Disney Canon film, we were all horrified beyond belief!
See? Even Culkin’s horrified!
Then after the acquisition of Pixar (and other factors), Disney decided to create another traditionally animated Disney Canon film and we were all ecstatic with immeasurable glee!
We arrive at Disney’s 48th animated feature, “Bolt”. Released in 2008, the film was a bit of a hit and received much critical praise as well as positive reviews. And according to some people, this film was the start of a new age of Disney animation’s resurgence, a sort of “second Disney Renaissance”, if you will. The animation of this film and the future ones would improve dramatically from what the past films have been as would the quality of the films themselves. And this is a film that I myself quite enjoy! Yet, I have to admit that I consider this movie to be the most FORGETTABLE movie in the Disney Canon!
Well, readers, I’ve updated the indexes at the top of the page. There now exists a page where all my “Top 13” lists are alphabetically indexed, as well as a page linking to my other blog, “My Live Action Disney Project”. Enjoy!
Just wanted to point out that I’ve, in the past week or so, put up a new page entitled “My Thoughts Index” (You can find the button at the top of the page). Basically it’s an alphabetical index of all the animated films that I’ve done a “My Thoughts” on. Hopefully, this will provide for easier searching for past reviews and a more organized site.
I also have the “Disney Canon-Forgotten/Minor Characters Index” button at the top of the page, in case you’ve never noticed it before. There you can find all the movies of the Disney Canon in chronological order as well as find my forgotten/minor character posts that I’ve done for each film till date for my project.
We are at the 47th film in the animated Disney Canon, “Meet the Robinsons”. Released in 2007, the film wasn’t a huge mega-hit, and I guess it wasn’t really an embarrassing flop either. But in terms of Disney Canon quality, many people put this one pretty low on the list! And…yeah, it’s definitely no masterpiece, but I really enjoy this movie! Maybe, it’s the family element, maybe it’s the time travel element, maybe it’s the overall fun, I dunno!
