Time to review what many deem to be Pixar’s less entertaining film of 2015, The Good Dinosaur. Fraught with production troubles, this film received a negative reaction from many fans saying that it wasn’t really any good. Others say that this film is actually an underrated gem. How do I feel about the film? Well, let’s take a look.
When it was announced that the Minions from the Despicable Me franchise were getting their own spinoff film, many people weren’t all that excited for it. This was mainly because many people were tired of the Minions and felt that the Minions couldn’t hold their own as main characters rather than side characters. Thankfully, I am a huge fan of the Minions and thought that I’d love to see them as the stars of their own film, so I was quite excited for this movie. Did I end up liking it? Well, let’s find out!
Ah, Inside Out: the Pixar film that nigh everyone says is a masterpiece, an absolutely marvelous film! Do I agree with this consensus or do I think that this film is overrated? Well, read on to find out!
I don’t understand it….I just don’t understand it. I’m not complaining, but I just don’t get it. I don’t get it at all! Maybe I just can’t see it? Maybe I’m just not the smartest bulb among a group of vegetables? I mean, Dreamworks Animation’s fate was hanging by a thread; it needed a savior. THIS film was the savior?! I mean, Disney was in a similar situation years ago and Cinderella saved them which is something I can understand. But, Home is Dreamworks Animation’s savior?!
Alright, let’s just talk about the movie.
Oh boy, this movie is…I mean…it’s not as….you would think….I found it…ok, let’s just take this one step at a time. Hopefully that would make things easier.
Ever since I watched (and fell in love with) Spirited Away, I have been constantly told that there is another Studio Ghibli film that if not better than Spirited Away, is of the same caliber. That film was Princess Mononoke. I’ve finally gotten around to seeing it (the English dub) and here are my thoughts.

I was a guy who up until late 2013/early 2014 never watched anything that had to do with anime. It just never interested me and I couldn’t stand the way anime characters move (I’m weird)! Thankfully, I decided to relent and watch a film from this Studio Ghibli which was apparently the Walt Disney of Japan. And I’m glad I made that decision!
If I didn’t, I wouldn’t have been introduced to the great storytelling, colorful animation, and just inventive premises and characters that Studio Ghibli films have to offer. And the film of today’s review provides all of the above! Let’s talk about Howl’s Moving Castle.
In 2013, Disney released their film, Planes, theatrically. Sort of a Cars in the air, it proved to be a modest success. Disney was so sure of this happening that they even planned a release date for the sequel BEFORE the first one was even released! And it’s this sequel we’re looking at today!

When How to Train Your Dragon was released in 2014, it was a huge hit! Both critics and the hoi polloi raved over it! I considered it my favorite Dreamworks Animation film at the time (later taken over by Rise of the Guardians)! So, as you can imagine, all of us (including myself) were awaiting this second installment in the trilogy.
